TUMMY TUCK

Patient 1 This is a 47-year-old woman desired a tummy tuck. She is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. She’s had 4 children and her family planning was complete. Dr. Nini performed a full abdominoplasty with diastases repair. Her photographs were taken 7 months after surgery. Her surgical scars will continue to improve over the next several years. In general, surgical scars lose the redness in 6-18 months but will continue to flatten in fade for several years. Dr. Nini. (KTN)

Procedures performed: Tummy Tuck.

TUMMY TUCK

Patient 2 This patient is a 24-year-old mother who has classic abdominal laxity after childbirth. She has diastasis of the rectus muscles, excess skin and stretch marks. Full abdominoplasty was performed with tightening of the muscles, removal of skin and excess fat and revision of the belly button. She is thrilled with the result. Dr. Wey. (PDW)

Procedures performed: Abdominoplasty Tummy Tuck.

TUMMY TUCK

Patient 3 This is a 33-year-old woman who is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 126 pounds. She asked for a tummy tuck and was concerned about the stretch marks, loose skin and lower abdominal bulge due to the diastases. Dr. Nini explained that the loose skin and bulge can be improved however the stretch marks could not be eliminated. An abdominoplasty and diastases repair was performed. In addition, Dr. Nini performed a new style umbilicoplasty (belly button) that he invented. Many patients are concerned about the reconstruction of the bellybutton and dislike the typical round, small and unnatural bellybuttons so typical of many abdominoplasties. This new technique yields a much more natural result that our patients are thrilled with! Her photographs are taken 6 months after surgery and you can see the scars are already beginning to fade nicely. Dr. Nini. (KTN)

Procedures performed: Tummy Tuck.

TUMMY TUCK

Patient 4 This is a 58-year-old woman who has had prior abdominal gynecologic surgery and developed an incisional hernia. She has an unfavorable vertical scar and the looseness from three prior pregnancies. we were able to work with a general surgeon who repaired the hernia at the same time full abdominoplasty was performed. Dr. Wey. (PDW)

Procedures performed: Abdominoplasty Tummy Tuck.

TUMMY TUCK

Patient 5 This 48-year-old woman was referred to Dr. Nini because she had leaking silicone breast implants. We performed a mini abdominoplasty with liposuction at the same time we removed her leaking silicone implants and replace them with a new generation implant and performed a breast lift. She is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds a total of 1200 cc of fat was removed from the upper and lower abdomen along with 1-1/2 pounds of lower abdominal skin and fat. Her photographs are taken 4 months after her initial procedure. Because her upper abdominal skin is in good condition, Dr. Nini was able to create a dramatic improvement without the down time associated with a full abdominoplasty. Dr. Nini. (KTN)

Procedures performed: Mini abdominoplasty with liposuction.

TUMMY TUCK

Patient 6 This 39-year-old woman had an amazing result from post weight loss body contouring (gastric sleeve) with 131 pound weight loss. She is in great physical shape and competes in triathlons. She has classic deflation seen after weight loss and for that we performed abdominoplasty to remove the extra skin around the lower abdomen, correct the hooding above her belly button and tighten her abdominal muscles. The horizontal and short vertical scar from the procedure is nicely concealed behind her undergarments and bathing suit. Dr. Wey. (PDW)

Procedures performed: Abdominoplasty Tummy Tuck.

TUMMY TUCK

Patient 7 This is a 38-year-old woman with a bulging abdomen as a result of a twin pregnancy. In general, she was very fit and exercised regularly. However, she was not able to significantly improve the appearance of her tummy. On physical examination she was noted to be 5 feet tall, 125 pounds. Examination of her abdomen revealed a diastasis recti, which is a separation of the abdominal muscles which frequently accompanies pregnancy. Women with this condition will typically have a flat upper abdomen and a lower abdominal bulge which begins several inches above the belly button. In this case a full abdominoplasty with muscle tightening was performed. A new style umbilicoplasty, or bellybutton reconstruction, was carried out using the inverted U method pioneered by Dr. Nini. This creates the most natural-appearing bellybutton which is more aesthetic than the typical circular incision. Her postoperative photos were taken at 7 months. Dr. Nini. (KTN)

Procedures performed: Full Abdominoplasty-Diastasis.

TUMMY TUCK

Patient 8 Patient is a 42-year-old woman who desired improvement of her abdominal contour. She had completed her family planning, observed a healthy lifestyle and exercised regularly. Despite her hard work, she could not improve the appearance of her abdomen because she suffered from a diastasis recti, the lower abdominal muscle separation that follows pregnancy. A full abdominoplasty with moderate muscle tightening and the new style inverted U bellybutton repair was carried out. For her safety and comfort, she spent the first night in the hospital. We prefer this arrangement for all of our abdominoplasty clients. Her photos were taken 19 months postoperatively and are a good demonstration of the scar fading which occurs over time. (KTN)

Procedures performed: Full Abdominoplasty-Diastasis.

TUMMY TUCK

Patient 9 This is a 36-year-old woman who presents after pregnancy with looseness, stretch marks and an umbilical hernia. Often we are able to schedule the abdominoplasty (which corrects the overall abdominal contour) with repair of the umbilical hernia all at the same time. Dr. Wey performed abdominoplasty (tightening of the abdominal muscles and removal of the excess skin) and one of our general surgeons repaired the umbilical hernia repair. Dr. Wey. Procedure performed (PDW)

Procedures performed: Abdominoplasty Tummy Tuck.

TUMMY TUCK

Patient 10 This patient presents for abdominal body contouring after weight loss. She had a laproscopic (“lap”) band procedure performed and subsequently lost 55 pounds. Abdominoplasty was performed and you can see the dramatic improvement in her abdominal contour. The large flap of skin between her belly button and pelvic region was removed and notice how her lap band scar which was originally under her rib cage is now located by her belly button. Dr. Wey. (PDW)

Procedures performed: Extended Abdominoplasty Tummy Tuck.

TUMMY TUCK

Patient 11 This is another woman who presents after pregnancy with looseness, bulging, a skin “flap” and umbilical hernia. The abdominoplasty to improve her overall abdominal contour was performed in conjunction with umbilical hernia repair. Here you can see how we tightened the abdominal muscles, removed the excess skin, repaired the umbilical hernia (with a general surgeon) and were able to conceal the entire transverse scar under a very brief bikini waistband. (PDW)

Procedures performed: Abdominoplasty Tummy Tuck.

TUMMY TUCK

Patient 12 This patient has had 3 caesarian sections. Her appearance is very typical after multiple pregnancies and is made even worse from retraction of the previous surgical scar. Dr. Wey was able to revise the pre-existing scar, remove some of the scar tissue and incorporate it within the new abdominoplasty incision. Dr. Wey. (PDW)

Procedures performed: Abdominoplasty Tummy Tuck.

TUMMY TUCK

Patient 13 This 59-year-old woman has a history of multiple prior abdominal surgeries as well as prior pregnancy and has fairly dramatic abdominal wall laxity, contour irregularities and a visibly crooked, depressed midline scar. Abdominoplasty was performed to improve both the abdominal wall tone and contour. We were able to completely remove the prior vertical scar and replace it with a more hidden horizontal one. Dr. Wey. (PDW)

Procedures performed: Abdominoplasty Tummy Tuck.
