CO2 Laser Resurfacing

CO2 Laser Resurfacing, known to be the gold-standard in skin resurfacing, uses a fractional laser to improve the overall appearance of the skin. The treatment uses advanced laser technology to remove damaged skin and stimulate collagen production to promote smoother, healthier skin with less imperfections.

CO2 Laser treatments can be used to address a variety of skin concerns, including poor skin texture, enlarged pores, dull skin, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, and uneven skin tone. The treatment is also highly effective for improving the appearance of surgical and traumatic scars. The treatment is suitable for all skin types and is customized to target specific areas of concern, including the face, neck, décolletage (chest), hands, and more.

CO2 Laser Resurfacing FAQs

The CO2 Laser emits short pulses of light energy, which are absorbed by water molecules in the skin. This vaporizes the damaged skin cells layer by layer, promoting skin regeneration and collagen remodeling.

CO2 Laser is a great treatment for the face, neck, décolletage (chest), and hands. Surgical and traumatic scars can also be treated very effectively.

For most patients, a series of treatments will provide optimal results. The exact number of treatments will vary based on your skin condition, goals, area of treatment, skin type, and treatment intensity. Treatments are typically spaced by 8-12 weeks.

Before the treatment, a numbing cream will be applied to the area for about 30 minutes to minimize discomfort. During the treatment, the laser handpiece is used to treat the target area. You will feel a heating sensation, but most patients report the treatment to be tolerable. We also offer Pro-Nox, which provides a mild form of laughing gas, to minimize discomfort for treatments on larger areas or treatments with higher intensity.

The recovery time can vary based on the intensity of the treatment. Typically, there is some redness, swelling, and peeling/scabbing after the procedure, which can last anywhere from several days to two weeks. It’s essential to follow post-treatment care instructions provided by your practitioner for the quickest recovery and best results.
